Pregnancy may not be what you had expected, but you are not alone, you have options, and we are for you to help talk through those options with you and provide resources to help you move forward.
Do my parents have to know?
Blue Ridge Women’s Center is a safe place for you to get all the information you need to make a sure and informed decision about your pregnancy. You do not need parent or guardian permission to receive our services and information about your options. If you are pregnant, the decision you make about the pregnancy is yours to make. Because all our services are free and confidential, you can come here and learn about all the support available with absolute discretion.*
We can help you with ways to share the news with your parents when the time is right for you.
*We are mandated by law to report any instance of abuse. Your safety is of utmost importance to us, which is why under certain circumstances, law enforcement may need to be involved.
Everyone is telling me what I should do
If you are feeling pressure from others to make any specific decision about your pregnancy, know the decision is yours to make. Whether it is a friend, boyfriend, or parent, no one can force you to have an abortion or any other option. You have rights, particularly regarding forced or coerced abortion, no one is allowed to pressure you into that decision or into any other option. We will go over all your options with you so you can make an informed decision about your pregnancy.
What is going to happen?
Regardless of whatever decision you make, your life will be changed. This is why in the midst of all the change you will face, we are here to help you navigate your options so you can feel confident about your future. We will provide you medical
services so you can know what is going on with your pregnancy and your body. You are not alone. You may not feel ready for this pregnancy or decision on your own, but we are here to walk alongside you, so you feel empowered to look toward your
future with confidence. There are resources for you in our community, and we’re committed to connecting you to support in the best ways we can.
